Allowing addition of hyphen in MRN
Users will now have the ability to include hyphens when inputting or viewing MRNs.
Improved Readability: The addition of hyphens improves the readability and organization of MRNs, making them easier to comprehend and transcribe accurately.
Consistency: This update promotes consistency in MRN formatting, aligning with industry standards and facilitating seamless integration with external systems and processes.
Home Oxygen - Allow decimal places for all associated numeric values
For both Home Oxygen Evaluation and Prescription, allows two digit decimal places for listed values:
Home Evaluation:
- Nicotine Testing - CO Breath, Urine Nicotine, Carboxy HGB
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) - PH, PC02, P02, COHB, O2 SAT, HGB
- Pulse Oximetry - Room air at rest, room air with exertion
- Oxygen Titration - O2 used at rest, resting SpO2 reached, O2 used with exertion, exertion SpO2 reached
Home Oxygen Order:
- Nicotine Testing - CO Breath, Urine Nicotine, Carboxy HGB

- Oxygen Titration - O2 used at rest, resting SpO2 reached, O2 used with exertion, exertion SpO2 reached
- Mode(s) of Use - Flow Rate, pulse dose at rest, pulse dose
Home Oxygen - Backup Tanks UI change
Modification to the UI selection for home oxygen backup tanks. Original UI had multiple buttons to select for each and every potential tank as a backup tank. New implementation has a text box where the user can input the necessary backup tank to be prescribed.
PFT - Add MGC Z-Score mapping
For Medgraphics PFT devices that are setup to send Z-Scores, Somnoware will now map those values, which can be utilized in automatic interpretation logic.
PFT - Sorting Studies
PFT studies will be listed on the PFT page in descending order based on the study date.
The latest conducted study will appear on the first page of the PFT studies.
PFT - Physician Access
Like in sleep,
- When configuring a physician in the system, their privileges may be set to view all studies OR to view only their specifically assigned studies.
- If the option is set to “all studies”, then the physician would be able to view all the studies in that location.
- If the option is set to “Assigned studies only”, the physician will be able to view and peruse only those studies that have been assigned to them.

Display common sleep diagnosis types on top in the dropdown list for diagnosis in the VA progress note
In the progress notes, all the sleep-related diagnosis codes are listed on top of the list in the drop down so that it would be easy for users to select one from the list.
Most used codes are following - OSA, CSA, CHEYNE STOKES BREATHING, SNORING, HYPERSOMNIA NOS (G47.10)
Patient letter configuration
In Configuration → Facilities → Patient Communication, select the option “Patient letter”.
This would allow the user to configure patient letters.

Ethnicity is listed in alphabetically sorted order for better usability
Ethnicity dropdown which is integrated withing the patient profile section for PFT, facilitating convenient selection by listing it in alphabetical order.
Display content control names in report builder
In response to user feedback, we've introduced a feature enabling users to view the actual content control (dropdown) name within the report builder. Previously, only the default value name was displayed, causing confusion when trying to identify the actual content control name after it was added to the report.
- Navigate to “Physician Preferences” and select "Custom Builder".
- From the right sidebar, create a content control (dropdown) and add it to the report.
- The report template will now display the actual content control name, facilitating clarity and ease of use.
Add a message in UI letting user know that historic visit checkbox was selected
- When checkbox is selected, the text changes to “Historic Visit selected”.
PFT Interpretation - Include reference equations that the clinic is using underneath physician interpretation when sending to EMR
Implemented a feature to include the reference equation(s) that the clinic is/are using for the predicted values of a patient’s PFT data.
- Navigate to the Clinic Configuration module. Select “Preferences” and “PFT Preferences” to access a clinic’s configurations.
- For the reference equation, insert into the text field which reference equations are being utilized by the clinician.
- Toggle can be selected to default to whether reference equation text will be included/excluded by default for clinic.
- When signing report, selecting the triple dot menu will allow including/excluding the reference equation for the specific interpretation being signed. Default selection will be based on clinic configuration toggle.

PFT Interpretation - Auto Interpretation logic changes: complex restrictions addition
Inclusion of “Possible complex restriction is present such as obesity or neuromuscular disease.” (Configurable in application) for patients that have a below normal TLC, a normalized FEV1/FVC ratio, and an above normal RV/TLC ratio. These are disabled by default as requested by Dallas.
- Navigate to user profile in top right.
- Select “PFT Preferences” to view auto interpretation logic statements.
- View lung volumes (Plethysmography and N2 Wash) to see logic statements related.
- Both in 2021 Standards and Old Standards.

Home Oxygen - Addition of diagnoses codes
Inclusion of additional options to the home oxygen diagnoses selection.
- G47.30 - Sleep apnea, unspecified
- R09.02 - Hypoxemia
- J96.11 - Chronic respiratory failure with hypoxia
- J96.91 - Respiratory failure, unspecified with hypoxia
- J96.21 - Acute and chronic respiratory failure with hypoxia
- J44.1 - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with (acute) exacerbation
- J44.9 - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, unspecified
Mapping clinic name to encounter type and appointment type
Introducing the ability to map clinic names to specific encounter types and appointment types in the system. This enhancement facilitates automatic population of clinic information in progress notes based on the selected encounter and appointment types, streamlining the workflow during the completion of encounters (Interpretation, Checkout, Study upload, etc.).
Administrators can configure mappings between clinic names, encounter types, and appointment types through the system configuration.
Clinic can be associated with one or more encounter types and appointment types.
When an encounter is marked as complete, the system will automatically populate the clinic information in the progress notes drop-down based on the mapped encounter type and appointment type.
This ensures that the relevant clinic information is readily available, reducing manual entry efforts. Users will still have the flexibility to manually change the populated clinic information in the progress notes drop-down if needed.
This allows for adaptability in cases where the automatically populated clinic may need adjustment.
Benefits:
Efficiency Improvement: Streamlines the workflow by automatically populating relevant clinic information.
Reduced Data Entry Errors: Minimizes the risk of errors associated with manual data entry.
Navigate to Configuration → Facilities → Select Facility → Clinic → Click on “Add Clinic” button.
New action item in Study Manager - CPRS uploads to cancel notes
Introducing a new action item in the Study Manager - CPRS uploads section, allowing users to efficiently cancel pending and failed CPRS notes in bulk. This enhancement streamlines the process of managing CPRS uploads by providing a convenient way to delete selected notes and initiate a bulk cancellation process.
Users with appropriate permissions can navigate to the CPRS uploads section and identify pending and failed filters.
A new action item allows users to select notes to be deleted in bulk.
After selecting the desired notes, users can initiate the bulk deletion process through the interface.
Navigate to Study Manager → CPRS Uploads → Pending / Failed Filter

Progress Note - Cosign Feature
With this update, while creating progress note, users will have the option to enable the co-sign feature without making it mandatory, and the label "Co-sign Physician" will be changed to "Co-Signer". Additionally, users with DUZ IDs will be listed as potential co-signers, simplifying the selection process.
Introduction of "Revert" option in CPRS note upload cancelled filter
With this enhancement, users now have the ability to seamlessly revert the status of a cancelled note back to its previous state.
Within the CPRS Cancelled bucket, users will now find a three-dot dropdown menu with an additional option labeled "Revert" next to each cancelled note.
Upon selecting the "Revert" option, the status of the cancelled note will be updated to its previous status, restoring it to its previous filter.
If there is no previous status recorded in the database (old entries), the reverted note will be moved to the upload pending filter for further processing.
Unregister the PATONE device from the WatchPAT cloud along with the NO SHOW workflow
- The user clicks on the No Show button from the scheduler (Device Initialized schedules).
- The device serial number will be released from Somnoware and WatchPAT cloud.
Add insurance pre-auth column to report export from the scheduled patient list page
- Insurance Preauth columns (Preauth Number, Start Date, End Date, CPT Code, and Status) will be shown in the exported file from the scheduled patient list page.
